Byers notes are written in the form of a continuous narrative and are nicely illustrated by Byers. The course taught by Keller (who was partially educated in Germany) appears to have combined elements of both chemistry and physics.

Arthur M. Byers attended Central High School in Philadelphia, PA. He was a member on the Class of '99. His instructor in Chemistry was Harry F. Keller (1861-1924). Keller taught at Central High School from 1892 to 1915 and co-authored Laboratory Experiments in General Chemistry, a popular textbook of the day with Edgar Fahs Smith. From the description of The A.
